For the past two decades, the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disability (IDPD) has been marked annually on 3 December globally and the theme for this years' international day is: "Achieving 17 Goals for the Future We Want".

Hands Up✋ for HIV Prevention - World Aids Day 2016.

Since the inception of World Aids Day(WAD) on 1 December,1988 - a day set to fully instigate awareness of the disease caused by the spread of HIV, great progress and interventions have been made to facilitate the reduction of stigma facing most people and the population of Aids - related death. One among other several interventions is the new UNAIDS strategy aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals Dubbed “90-90-90 Fast Track Target”, the strategy ensures that by year 2020:

• 90% of all persons living with HIV know their HIV status;
• 90% of all people diagnosed with HIV infection receive sustained; antiretroviral therapy, and;
• 90% of all receiving antiretroviral therapy will have viral suppression.

Fighting The Canker Eating Ghana's Fabric.

Modern slavery also known as human trafficking; under which there is child trafficking, is a canker eating into Ghana’s development. This activity has entangled the rights and freedom of victims especially children, women, and the vulnerable.  Perpetrators of modern slavery have crafted it in an appealing way such that, people even pay for it without realizing.

Addressing Challenges Children Face; Day of the African Child.

Children face numerous challenges when growing and without knowing who and where to report. Even if they know where to report, the question is; is the attention given to them? And how are these
challenges addressed? Some advocates always echo child protection in the ears of parents and care givers. Child protection goes beyond feeding, clothing, educating and protecting. It involves giving your ears to children and that warm welcome to always walk to you, and share challenges together.

#TurnBack Human Trafficking. A Year On...!

The Human Trafficking Act of Ghana, Human Trafficking Act, 2005 Act 69 describes human trafficking as a means of the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, trading or receipt of persons within and across national borders by

1. The use of threats, force or other forms of coercion, abduction, fraud,

deception, the abuse of power or exploitation of vulnerability, or giving or receiving payments and benefits to achieve consent.

2.  Exploitation shall include at the minimum, induced prostitution and other

forms of sexual exploitation, forced labor or services, salary or practices

similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs.

Rebirth of Culture.

Africa is the mother of many children and am proud to be one of hers. Africa as a continent has the second largest population, the longest river in the world is located in it. I don't want to go further to tell you all about Africa and its people; I may not complete it all.

On May 25 each year in Africa, Africans celebrate Africa Day. This day commemorates the founding of the Organization of African Unity, OAU now known as the African Union; AU. It aims to celebrate the unity between Africans. Aside its main purpose, the day serves as an opportunity for reconciliation  between sister countries and citizens.

Ghana Goes Inlusion

Education is a human right and not a privilege. One needs no requirement to assess it and it is not meant for a category of people. It is for us all. Ghana's education system is riddled with challenges and children with special needs tend to suffer more.

On Tuesday 3rd May 2016; Ghana stood on its feet to break a new dawn. Enough of the discrimination! Says Mother Ghana. Ghana launched its first inclusive education policy defines the path of Government for the education of all children with special needs. The policy is the outcome of series of discussions and consultations between stakeholders in the education sector and non  state organizations such as UNICEF.
