The Unfinished Agenda!

The participation of young people in decision making is often disregarded and it's against their human rights.
On Thursday 10th November - 2016, #Abrampa in partnership with Curious Minds Ghana and TomorrowToday held the first ever Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Orientation for Senior High School students under the theme; Young Peoples involvement for national development: SDGs in focus.
The first set of 50 students were trained as ambassadors on how to implement initiatives in their school to trigger positive change as part of their contributions geared towards achieving SDGs. The event is also designed to educate ambassadors on what the one year old global goals are with respect to the country's achievement on the expired Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
"The overall goal of the event is to create an atmosphere with young people contributing their quota for development. When this particular goal is achieved, it will hasten progress at the local level, regional level, and international level". Ishmael Adjei - Event Organizer.
At the sideline of the event, the first Ghanaian who cycled to the ten regions of Ghana in bid to raise funds to help children with cleft deformity, Mr. Reuben Griffiths Bekoe spoke passionately on the subject: what hinders young peoples participation in national development. Mr. Bekoe highlighted that one thing which is a hindrance is SHYNESS. "Young people can be given the chance but shyness will lead them off track". He stated.
The change maker exhorted the trained ambassadors to champion the developmental agenda.

Give young people the ears, build their capacities and never doubt their abilities. Their involvement is critical and crucial.
