Hands Up✋ for HIV Prevention - World Aids Day 2016.

Since the inception of World Aids Day(WAD) on 1 December,1988 - a day set to fully instigate awareness of the disease caused by the spread of HIV, great progress and interventions have been made to facilitate the reduction of stigma facing most people and the population of Aids - related death. One among other several interventions is the new UNAIDS strategy aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals Dubbed “90-90-90 Fast Track Target”, the strategy ensures that by year 2020:

• 90% of all persons living with HIV know their HIV status;
• 90% of all people diagnosed with HIV infection receive sustained; antiretroviral therapy, and;
• 90% of all receiving antiretroviral therapy will have viral suppression.
