Periscope!
Hi! It's another edition of my tour which brings you highlights of developmental issues in Ghana dubbed "periscope", and today it was interesting as I joined passionate citizens in a wonderful exercise.
Today being Founders Day and National Volunteer Day, the country was filled with various activities that enhances development. Some were clean up exercises, peace walks, and many more.
I joined some YALI cohorts of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders in United States of America, who spent their precious time by volunteering to clean the Sakumono Beach - Accra.

During the clean up exercise, I noticed something which for some time now has been an issue to Ghanaians though some has not noticed it. I realized the sea is filled with plastic waste which makes relaxation uncomfortable there and also swimming not enjoyable. Solving that issue is each others role; why?
The beach will be a clean place for beach lovers. Nonetheless, one will agree that in the midst of having fun, one might "forget - fully" litter the place. Now, it is the duty of drinking spot operators to tidy up and dispose refuse at the appropriate site and not into the sea. Not to say that, those who use the beach should intentionally litter for drinking spot operators to clean. We need to be conscious and live as we wish others to. Also, companies should adopt a creative and convenient method of packaging without using plastic bottles and cans much.

Let's follow these trend as good citizens for progressive and better environment.
Thank you for reading, share if you support positive change.
