A report on "Human Trafficking in Persons" released recently indicates that, Ghana has been ranked as a Tier Two country in addressing issues of Human Trafficking. In the initial reports, Ghana was at Tier one. why is it so and who is to be blame? This suggests that, the country has loosen its weight in ending or reducing human trafficking. It is again recorded that; children are victims of most trafficking cases that occur, which affects their development and on the larger scale, the country.

As part of Government's interventions in halting the rise in human trafficking, Ghana joined the world in the launch of the "Blue Day" - on 13th July, 2016. The main objective of the "Blue Day" is to create public awareness and also exhort the community to take up its role in ending human trafficking.

Following that was the dissemination of the human trafficking laws and other legal instruments, prohibiting the act. Present at the gathering today was the Deputy Director of Ghana Immigration Service - Madam Dzokoto, who expressed her interest in supporting the uprising of Ghana with regards to ending trafficking. "I was not happy after hearing Ghana's position in the Trafficking in Persons report. If we are crawling; we need to walk. And if we are walking; we need to run". She said.

In her bid; she stated that, she will work closely with Ghana Police Service and other partners in the game, to acquire more information on perpetrators and deal with them. Madam Dzokoto then promised the public of more arrest, rescue, and prosecutions before the year ends.

As an advocate, I keep racking my brains on how to end this issue. And I believe my line of thinking is a same as that of policy makers. Tying the knot is not a man's business but everyone.
Let's prioritize children and work in their best interest to end trafficking; it is real.
