Ghana At A Glance; Election 2016

Conflict is one activity eating the development of most African countries. In most cases, conflict rise when there is no understanding before, during, and after an election. This affects country economic growth, making it difficult in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 1 – Ending poverty in all forms. On the path of children, access to education, access to health care as said by Sustainable Development Goal 3, always becomes a problem; leaving them [children] in jeopardy.

Ghana happens to be one out of many countries, noted for carrying out peaceful elections. As country men and women prepare for Ghana's general election to be held on November 7 - 2016, measures is been put in place in order not to cause any harm against humanity and development. Organizations are taking up initiatives to educate citizens (especially young people) not to engage in activities that will bring about conflict, and also flee from poisonous propaganda.

Today, members of Police Wives Association (POLWA), stormed the streets of Tema with a peaceful walk. Present at the walk which started from Tema Community 1 Police station and ended at the Kwame Nkrumah Park, are Police Personnel, the Ghana Armed Forces brass band team, and the Greater Accra Regional Minister - Hon. Nii Laryea Afortey - Agbo. The peaceful walk called to attention of residents in the Tema Metropolis that, the police and other security agencies, won't take it lightly with anyone who contradicts with the law.

Declaring any pre or post-election conflict in Ghana will not be a pleasant story to the ears. I believe every safety measure put in place will work out successfully and smile will fill the cheeks of every child.

Wishing Ghana and Africa peaceful elections.
